Self Portrait

I started my digital self portrait by taking and looking at many pictures of myself . Which is hard to do, because I do not like pictures of me? Then I sat down and started to think about what made me…..me. You know what makes a person who or what they are? I came up with my family! I’m not me with out my family. Now I started to look for pictures of my family. As I was looking through my pictures, I came across a picture I took of a sunrise right after my mother passed away. She loved to sit and watch the sunrise. I felt that this sunrise was a way to say that life goes on in a full circle.
The first thing I did is scan the picture of the sunrise. Then I went looking for pictures of my family and I also took many pictures of them to help out. Finally I found and took some that I thought would work. I used the magic wand to help me cut and paste to put each on their own layer. Then I resized and used some filters to get the image that I wanted. Next I made a layer to put the image of me on then I lassoed and pasted. Next I took my tablet and sketched around myself and went to the other layers and did the same. I worked on all the layers trying to get the same color and feel for the picture. After a long time working on that, I used the snug and blur to get the result that I have now. You do not even see any of the sketching that I worked on what seemed forever!

Trees

I was having some fun taking pictures of trees!

LOOK

The story ofThe Adventures of the Amazing Broomstick

One day Mr. A. Broomstick decided to take a vacation from his run of the mill, every day job, sweeping, He could just imagine the places he would go, the sights he would see, and the other brooms he would meet. He said goodbye to his wife and broom-child and lugged his bags out the door. He flew over the Garden of Wonders and stopped by the Merry Swing of Love. He thought about how much he loved his family and got a nearby passer by to take his picture.
Mr. Broomstick took a stroll down a path though the garden of Dying Hope, this was quite depressing, as the plants that were so lively in the Garden of Wonders were now droopy browning. He quickly took a picture and left. He continued walking down the path to a place where the plants were much healthier to the Tree of Undying Grace, the tree, much like its name, swayed in the breeze and looked quite magnificent, He leaned up against the tree and felt soothed by the swaying motion. He had a passerby take a picture and was on his way.
A large metal fence was quickly coming into Mr.Broomstick's view. He saw a large animal enclosed in the fence and felt a little sorry for it. He petted it with his broom bristles and fed it some brown Broom-o-Nuts. He saw a gold plate on its house that stated it was a vicious beast and his name was Fluffy the Tiger Beast. Interesting as this was, Mr. Broomstick took a picture and moved along.
On his way out of the garden, he found a pack lying on the ground, when he picked it up, several orange and green Broom-o-Nuts fell out. Seeing as he fed his Broom-o-Nuts to the Fluffy Beast, he was quite hungry and popped them in his mouth. He tossed the pack into the trash and walked out to a large concrete surface with little lines all over it and strange building in the middle. The deadly gases pouring out of the loud machines frightened and angered him, but he was much too small to simply sweep them away.
To his surprise, he started to grow; soon he was just as big as the metal machines so he decided to sweep them away, and after a hard sweep's work (which reminded him greatly of his job back home)he figured he had seen enough of the world. to his surpise, a citizen had taken a digital picture of the incident, but we couldn't have that could we? Mr,Broomstick whapped him on the head and stole the camera to promptly go back home to his wife and child. THE END

Before pictures

I hope this works!!!

Photo from a digital camera

We took a picture using a digital camera of a friend and copied to photoshop we were told to crop and make a good composition . I started by cropping the picture, then I changed the cropped photo to black and white. After that I lassoed the face and hand then brightened them. Next I used the watercolor application to enhance the face and hand.
The background was lassoed in different areas and then the stained glass technique was applied in various sizes. After that I used the smudge tool to create contrast between the background and the foreground. With each lesson I'm enjoying the processes more.

This is another image that I worked on for my hero. I had a lot of fun working on the hero.

All about shadow woman

My partner and I set out to talk about the hero we wanted. She had to be humble and selfless. Always in every shadow, she is of average age and always ready to help. Our hero has all knowing powers to help others.
So next we went looking for images to help us. We wanted a shadowy background and a woman to start with. We found a lot we liked, making it hard to decide. Working with two different backgrounds and two women we cut and pasted them having to flip the woman’s images to face in the right way. After doing that we drew cloaks around the woman with the drawing tool and filled them with the paint tools. Then we took the smudge and smear tools to make it look as if she was coming out of the shadows. It took many, many, tries to get it the way that we wanted.
Finally we chose the one with the all knowing sphere in hand to make as the hero. We found it hard at times to figure out how to do something but we kept trying. We hope to finish the story of the shadow woman who does not get it right every time. Sometime she mixes things up a little.

Sometimes, Shadow woman gets confused...

Shadow Woman

Shadow Woman is a very reserved and humble person. As a hero, she expects and seeks to attract no praise or recognition from others. She lurks in the shadows, seeking out those she can help. In her possession is a knowing sphere that aids her in finding those in need of saving. That, along with her ability to manipulate the shadows around her to either cloak her and others or even to become a solid structure with which to manipulate her surroundings enable her to attempt feats that would not be feasible with her physical body alone. She is not physically strong, but she has a strong sense of justice that fuels her need to help those around her.
